queued for hours as a kid to get my ticket (which i still have). First trip to Wembley where I sat on bench. A bench not THE bench. In those days only room for one on THE bench.
Had never seen so much claret and blue. No idea we had so many supporters, though looking back we would have had around a 40 thousand allocation and were getting that at Upton Park.

Wow! Yes! In fact this has reminded me that we used to play our own version of Rollerball in the school playground which involved chasing round after a smallish ball bearing that somebody had found somewhere, wearing old fashioned cricket batting gloves with the green rubber spikes on the fingers, thumping each other.
Couldn't quite stretch to the motorbikes, skates and full on death and destruction though.
They remade this a few years back. Truly one of the worst remakes I have ever seen.

We used to have boxing bouts in a made up ring on the Green on our Estate... i went 5 and unbeaten in that year... U10's... not bad considering I was 8 at the time... can't imagine that type of thing happening nowadays... apart from that... JAWS and my first ever away game (Arsenal 2-0 QF FA Cup)... I thought they was all going to be like that day...

I remember my old man making some photo montage of our players and sticking it up on the kitchen window the day before the cup final, whole fucking room was blacked out for two days
